If you have artistic soul then it’s sure to receive
nourishment at a number of visual arts center.
The Bridge for Contemporary Art is nonprofit and
run by area artists. It hosts 6 to 8 contemporary
art exhibits a year. It also host poetry readings
and performances by local and national theater
groups and musicians.
Adair Margo Gallery
opened in El Paso in 1985 in turn of the century
building that at one time housed short-lived art
club on its roof on the 1920’s. The gallery exhibits
the finest regional, national and international art,
including more than 400 drawings from Tom Lea, an
illustrator, novelist and painter who started that
short-lived art club when he was a teen.
People’s Gallery
at City Hall features the works of local as well
as national artists. Exhibits are changed on a
monthly basis.
The largest studio
in El Paso, Studio W, is definitely worth a
visit. It showcases original art and also handles
limited edition prints.
El Paso Museum
of Art is at One Arts Festival Plaza. It
features the internationally famous Kress
Collection, Tom Lea Gallery, works on paper and
temporary exhibits.
